DeAndre Yedlin seems poised to capitalize on his World Cup performance with a reported move to Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League.

The Seattle Sounders wing back missed his team's training session Friday, with both head coach Sigi Schmid and owner/general manager Adrian Hanauer confirming Yedlin was abroad, working toward a potential deal.

“He’s visiting with a big club in Europe," Hanauer told reporters. "We’re working towards a potential transaction.”

 Hanauer went on to emphasize that any deal struck would see Yedlin finish out the current MLS season with Seattle before heading abroad in the January transfer window. BBC reports Tottenham is in "advanced" talks with the Sounders and MLS over the transfer, while Goal.com reports Yedlin's trip is to undergo a physical with the club, while also pinpointing the transfer sum to be $3.5 million. 

Even if both parties agree to the transfer, Yedlin could still be denied the necessary work permit by the United Kingdom's Home Office. To qualify, foreign players are technically required to have played in 75 percent of their national team's "A" fixtures (World Cup games, World Cup qualifiers, regional championships, etc.). With only seven caps to his name, it seems unlikely Yedlin will qualify. However, like Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea in their respective moves to Stoke, a rejection can be appealed and overturned. 

Schmid expects Yedlin to be back and available for selection for the Sounders' game against Houston this Sunday (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
