Atletico Madrid and Juventus meet on Wednesday in a UEFA Champions League Group A fixture at Madrid's Vicente Calderon Stadium. In the opening match of group play, Juventus scored a 2-0 win over Malmo and Atletico Madrid fell to Olympiakos, 3-2. 

Juventus' attack has been led by Carlos Tevez, who scored both of Juve's goals in the team's opening Champions League group stage match. In league play, Juventus holds the top spot in Serie A on goal differential, giving Massimiliano Allegri's club the tie-breaker over AS Roma. Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, sits at No. 5 spot in La Liga with three wins and two losses. 

In last year's Champions League, Juventus failed to advance past the group stage while Atletico Madrid finished as the runner-up to Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid facts

Last year's second-place finish in the Champions League tied Atletico Madrid's best finish in the tournament. They also finished in second in the 1973-74 tournament.
