As you may have heard, the Columbus Crew unveiled a new logo and brand identity on Wednesday night. Present at the event was former Crew and U.S. national team right back Frankie Hejduk, a big personality known for his tenacious play and easy-going manner off the field. Hejduk is beloved in Columbus, so much so that the club currently employs him as a Brand Ambassador.

What does one do as a Brand Ambassador? Well, one would assume it would be things like this.

After the unveiling of the new Crew logo, event emcee Brian Dunseth invited Hejduk on to the stage for a group toast to the club's new beginnings. Hejduk delivered that and waaaaay more over the course of an seven-minute rant, which covered such things as universal belonging, getting weird, and what it means to be from Columbus at this time.

The man is now basically the Andrew W.K. of MLS. I, for one, am totally OK with that.

Here's the archived video of the event, fast-forwarded to Hejduk's entrance. But in the event that gets taken down, audio is embedded below as well.
