Russia national team coach Fabio Capello has not been paid since June, according to The Guardian.
It is unclear exactly why Capello is not being paid, but The Guardian reports that the Russian Football Union has repeatedly struggled with financial problems and recently had to take out bank loans to pay some of Capello's staff.
Russia was winless in the 2014 World Cup with two draws and a loss, and did not advance past the group stage. The team has just one win in its last six competitive matches under Capello.

Russian sports minister Vitaly Mutko believes that the team's struggles are related to Capello not being paid.
"[It] doesn’t give either the team or the coach any extra motivation," Mutko said of the lack of pay, adding that the ordeal "could be having an effect on the team’s results."
Mutko also said that the situation of not paying Capello "doesn’t make Russia look good in any way" as the country gets ready to host the 2018 World Cup.
Capello has a reported yearly salary of $11 million.
