Galaxy sign defender A.J. DeLaGarza to contract extension
The LA Galaxy have signed defender A.J. DeLaGarza to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.
DeLaGarza, 26, has played his entire six-year career with the Galaxy since being the No. 19 pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, starting 150 of 155 games. He has been the team's defender of the year twice in the past three seasons. He was part of the Galaxy when they won championships in 2011 and 2012.
“We’re thrilled to sign A.J. to a multi-year contract,” LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena said. “He is one of the most versatile defenders in MLS and has been an important part of our organization’s success both on and off the field over the past six years. We look forward to A.J.’s continued leadership as an LA Galaxy member.”
