Report: Everton fans attacked by 'up to 100 hooligans' in Lille
Everton fans visiting the French city of Lille for their team's Europa League match on Thursday were attacked outside a bar on Wednesday night, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Echo reports the fans were outside an Australian bar in Lille when "up to 100 hooded Lille hooligans swarmed from side street" in an unprovoked attack.
An unnamed doorman from the bar told the Echo that the attackers hit the Everton fans with metal chairs which were stacked outside the bar. They also attempted to break the windows, the doorman said. The Echo has a photo of bloodied Everton fans.

Police arrived quickly, the doorman said, and used tear gas to break up the brawl.
The Echo estimates that between 8,000 and 10,000 Everton fans made the trip to Lille, which is accessible by high-speed rail from England.
