Saints dropped to third in the Premier League, a point behind the defending champions.

Nathaniel Clyne scored in the 81st minute to earn a point for Saints at Villa Park. Gabriel Agbonlahor scored in the first half for Aston Villa.
11/08: Southampton 2, Leicester City 0
Shane Long came off the bench to score two goals for Southampton in a win over Leicester. Long netted goals in the 75th and 80th minutes to seal a Saints victory at home over the Foxes.
