U.S. defender Eric Lichaj signs extension with Nottingham Forest
United States men's national team defender Eric Lichaj has signed an extension that will keep him with Nottingham Forest until 2017, the club announced on Tuesday.
Lichaj, 26, joined Nottingham Forest in 2013 after being released by Aston Villa. He has started Nottingham's last seven matches.
Lichaj has made 10 appearances for the U.S. men's national team since debuting in 2010. His most recent caps came in a pair of friendly matches against Austria and Scotland. They were his only appearances for the national team since Jurgen Klinsmann replaced Bob Bradley as the team's coach.

His most extensive stretch with the national team came during the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, when he started each of the final four matches.
Nottingham Forest has opened the English League Championship season 4-5-3 and is tied for for tenth place.
