Former Stoke and Crystal Palace coach Tony Pulis will be named West Brom's manager, likely on Thursday, and is expected to have final say on all personnel decisions, the BBC reports.

West Brom fired manager Alan Irvine on Monday after the club's disappointing start to the season in his first year as coach. The club has cycled through a series of managers in the past year, including Steve Clarke, Keith Downing, Pepe Mel and Irvine.

Pulis abruptly left Crystal Palace in August, just days before the start of the Premier League season. He led them to an 11th place finish last season in his only year with the club.

Prior to his stint at Crystal Palace, Pulis led Stoke City for seven years. He departed after a 13th place finish in 2013.

West Brom has started the Premier League season 4-5-10 and is in 16th place with 17 points.

Pulis' first game with West Brom is expected to be on Saturday in the FA Cup third round against Gateshead.
