Third-tier Sheffield United added another Premier League team to its growing list of cup exploits by beating Queens Park Rangers 3-0 on Sunday for the first big upset of this season's FA Cup.
United, which was last in England's top division in 2007, has defied its lowly league placing by reaching the semifinals of the FA Cup last season and the same stage of the League Cup this season.
QPR was humiliated at Loftus Road, with defender Marc McNulty putting the visitors ahead in the 36th minute before Jamal Campbell-Ryce scored twice in the second half.
In other early games Sunday, Crystal Palace — managed for the first time by Alan Pardew — thrashed non-league side Dover 4-0 and Sunderland beat second-tier Leeds 1-0.
