Cardiff City returning to blue home kit

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan said the club will go back to playing in their blue strip for home games.

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan said the club will go back to playing in their blue kits for home games.

According to the BBC, Tan made the decision after consulting with supporters on Thursday and the Football League gave the club the go ahead to change its playing strip mid-campaign.

Cardiff switched to red kits in 2012 at the behest of Tan despite Cardiff sporting blue the previous 114 years.

Tan also made the decision to change the badge on the club's uniform to give the mascot more prominence.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to build a new platform and put the bricks in place to rebuild and start again," Cardiff City manager Russell Slade said, according to the BBC. "If you're going to be successful in any business, any football club, you need everyone pulling together as a unit."

Cardiff's away uniforms will be red. 

Cardiff City is currently 12th in the Football League standings with 31 points and has not posted a League win in its last seven games.
