Clement Chantome joins Bordeaux FC from Paris Saint-Germain

Midfielder Clement Chantome has left French club Paris Saint-Germain and joined Girondins de Bordeaux FC, the club announced on Friday.

The 27-year-old Chantome joined Paris Saint-Germain as a 12-year-old, rising through the club's ranks to join its first team squad. Chantome won the French U19 Championship with PSG in 2006.

Chantome debuted with PSG's first team as an 18-year-old, appearing in 20 games that season. He earned his first senior trophy in 2008, and he helped PSG win the Coupe de France in 2010 and the French Ligue 1 title in 2013 and 2014.

During PSG's title run in 2013, he appeared in 28 Ligue 1 matches, scoring one goal. Chantome spent time during the 2013-2014 season on loan to Toulouse FC, during which he appeared in 28 matches and scored two goals.

Chantome joins Bordeaux with 277 professional appearances, including 195 in Ligue 1 and nine in the UEFA Champions League.

Bordeaux currently sits seventh in the French Ligue 1 standings, with 33 points through 22 games and 27 goals scored. PSG is second in the Ligue 1 table, with 47 points and 40 goals scored through 23 games.
