Prior to taking the field in an official game for the first time as an MLS franchise, Orlando City turned to its most accomplished player for some inspiration.

Kaká, the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year, 2002 World Cup winner and highest-paid player in MLS history (according to the most recent MLS Players Union documents), delivered an impassioned pregame speech before the Lions' 1-1 draw with New York City FC. Orlando City captured the private moment, making it public on Monday:

Kaká went on to score the late equalizer for Orlando City, with his free kick taking a fortuitous deflection and wrong-footing NYCFC goalkeeper Josh Saunders in stoppage time of the clash at the sold-out Citrus Bowl.

Orlando City returns to action Friday in its first road game, playing at the Houston Dynamo.
