Mexico names roster for March friendlies; Marquez out with injury
Mexico national team manager Miguel Herrera has named a 25-man roster for the team's upcoming friendlies against Paraguay and Ecuador.
El Tri mainstay Rafa Marquez did not make the roster due to an injury suffered with his club Hellas Verona. Herrera had previously announced that Marquez would make a surprise return to the national team in an earlier release.

Instead, his abscence opens up another spot for a domestic-based player, of which 14 have been called in addition to the European-based players previously released.
That list includes three from Cuz Azul (Jesús Corona, Julio César Domínguez, Francisco Rodríguez) and Tigres (Hugo Ayala, Jesús Dueñas, Jorge Torres Nilo), two from Santos Laguna (Oswaldo Alanís, Adrián Aldrete), and América's Paul Aguilar, León's José Juan Vázquez, Tijuana's Javier Güemez, Atlas' Juan Carlos Medina, Pachuca's Jurgen Damm, and Pumas' Eduardo Herrera.
Mexico takes on Ecuador at the Los Angeles Coliseum on March 28, before traveling to Kansas City to play Paraguay at Arrowhead Stadium on March 31.
