La Liga: Sevilla stays close to top four with win vs. Villarreal

Sevilla beat Villarreal for the third time in 11 days to stay in striking distance of the top four teams in the Spanish league on Sunday.
Three days after eliminating Villarreal from the Europa League, fifth-place Sevilla got second-half goals from Jorge "Coke" Andujar and Victor "Vitolo" Machin for a 2-0 victory that opened a six-point difference over Villarreal in sixth.
Earlier, Deportivo La Coruna's winless run reached six games after drawing 0-0 at home with Espanyol.
Espanyol midfielder Javi Lopez had the best chance of an otherwise drab match when he struck the crossbar with seven minutes to play.
Deportivo remained one point above the relegation zone, while Espanyol stayed in the middle of the table.
Later, Barcelona hosts Real Madrid aiming to protect its one-point advantage over its fierce rival at the top of the Spanish league.
Real Sociedad also hosts Cordoba.
