The bank's logo has appeared on Liverpool shirts since 2010, and the contract extension is through May 2019.

The current deal is worth about 20 million pounds ($30 million) a season, but financial details of the new contracts were not disclosed.

Liverpool has won only one trophy since its sponsorship with Standard Chartered began — the 2012 League Cup — and has appeared in the Champions League only once.

Liverpool has had a lackluster season, going from runner-up in 2013-14 to a likely finish next month outside of the top four lucrative European places.
