Leroux’s goalscoring pace has slowed slightly since scoring 14 goals in 2012, all off the bench. Born in Canada, Leroux was was the youngest member of the USA's 2012 Olympic squad after receiving FIFA clearance for a switch from the Canadian national team. Leroux scored for the U.S. against Canada in a 2013 friendly in Toronto and celebrated by pointing to the U.S. crest on her shirt after being booed throughout the match.

A speedy forward who is best running behind defenses, Leroux has scored multiple goals in five matches, including five against Guatemala in 2012 Olympic qualifying. In December 2014, Leroux married Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer.
