Watch: Chile beats Peru 2–1 in Copa America on Eduardo Vargas strike
Eduardo Vargas gave Chile a 2–1 lead in Monday's Copa America semifinal against Peru with a long-range strike in the 64th minute. The goal turned out to be the game-winner as the hosts advanced to play the winner of Tuesday's Argentina-Paraguay match in the final on Saturday.
Vargas's goal came shortly after Chile scored an own goal to pull Peru level at 1–1. After a turnover near midfield, Vargas received a pass and took just a few steps before firing a shot on goal from well outside the box.
