Manchester United star Wayne Rooney said he would consider a future move to MLS.

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney said he would consider a future move to MLS. 

“I’m obviously concentrating on Manchester United,” Rooney said, according to The Guardian. “When that time comes, that’ll be something I’d think about. I’ll sit down with my wife and children and decide if it would be right for me.”

MLS has become a destination for aging Premier League stars, most famously United's David Beckham, and more recently Chelsea's Frank Lampard and Liverpool's Steven Gerrard. 

Rooney, 29, made his Premier League debut with Everton in 2002 and was sold to United two years later. He has scored 170 goals in 340 games for the Red Devils. Rooney also captains the English national team and needs one goal to tie Bobby Charlton for the most in England history.

Rooney is currently traveling the United States with United, as the Reds prepare for a four-match exhibition tour. Their first game is Friday in Seattle against Mexican side Club America.
