Mexico fires manager Miguel Herrera

Mexico's national soccer team has fired manager Miguel Herrera, reports ESPN's John Sutcliffe.
The firing comes two days after Mexico's 2015 Gold Cup title victory over Jamaica.
Herrera allegedly punched television commentator Christian Martinoli in the Philadelphia airport in an altercation on Monday morning. The two had a history of public disagreement.
ESPN reported earlier Tuesday that Mexico's football federation met to discuss Herrera's situation.
Mexico will play the U.S. men's national team in a one-game playoff at the Rose Bowl on Oct. 9 for a berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
Trying to imagine a coach winning the Euro, Copa América, Asian Cup or Africa Cup of Nations and being fired 2 days later. So long, Piojo.
