Twitter unveils emojis for EPL clubs ahead of 2015/16 campaign
Premier League fans will be able to show their support for their clubs on Twitter this season using new team-specific emojis, which Twitter unveiled on Friday.
Beginning on Friday, a day before the 2015/16 campaign begins, certain hashtags on Twitter will trigger Premier League emojis. Club hashtags (such as #AVFC for Aston Villa) will generate a club crest emoji, while official match hashtags (such as #MUNTOT for this Saturday's clash between Manchester United and Tottenham) will trigger the two club crests side-by-side.
The emojis will expire following this weekend's fixtures, but Twitter plans to offer similar hashtags on key dates throughout the season.
The hashtags #BPL and #BPLKickoff will generate the Premier League Trophy, and #FPL will show the Premier League's crest. You can view Twitter's new Premier League emojis below.
