The Chicago Fire have decided to part ways with head coach and director of soccer Frank Yallop.
The Chicago Fire have decided to part ways with head coach and director of soccer Frank Yallop, the the team announced Sunday.
The decision to let Yallop go comes as the Fire sit nine points out of playoff position with just over a month left in the regular season. In nearly two seasons as manager of the fire, Yallop compiled a record of 13-36-24.
Yallop has spent 12 of the last 15 seasons coaching in the MLS. He has also coached the San Jose Earthquakes (2001-2003/2008-2013) and Los Angeles Galaxy (2006-2007). He coached the Canadian national team from 2004-2006.
The Fire have named Technical Director Brian Bliss interim head coach.
