Watch: Chicharito scores two for Leverkusen in Champions League
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez continues to look right at home with Bayer Leverkusen.
Chicharito, fresh off scoring in the CONCACAF Cup for Mexico vs. the United States, tallied a pair of early goals in Bayer Leverkusen's Champions League clash with Roma on Tuesday.
Chicharito scored on a fourth-minute penalty before finishing off his own rebound 15 minutes later to put the Bundesliga club in control of the Group E encounter (that is, until Daniele De Rossi erased the 2-0 deficit with a pair of goals of his own as part of Roma's four-goal response. The two sides wound up splitting the points with a wild 4-4 draw). Leverkusen entered the day tied with BATE Borisov a point behind Barcelona, while disappointing Roma languished in last with a single point.
For Chicharito, the goals are his second and third in Champions League play for Leverkusen, the club he joined this summer from Manchester United. He also has one league goal in his 10 total appearances with the club.
