Watch: Fabian Johnson scores for Mönchengladbach vs. Sevilla
U.S. national team defender Fabian Johnson continued his fine run of form for Borussia Mönchengladbach on Wednesday, scoring a curling goal to put his side up 2-0 over Sevilla.
Johnson, who was the subject of some criticism from U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann following his performance against Mexico in the Confederations Cup playoff, has responded by netting his second Champions League goal in as many games after scoring against Juventus at the start of November.
On Wednesday, Johnson got open to the left of goal, took a touch around a defender, and curled in an accurate effort that left the goalkeeper little chance.
Mönchengladbach would go on to win the match 4-2, and though the team is out of contention for the Champions League's last 16 it remains in contention for Group D's spot in the Europa League.
