Report: Jason Kreis joins Jurgen Klinsmann's staff for USMNT camp

Jason Kreis has joined Jurgen Klinsmann's coaching staff for the U.S. men's national team's January camp, according to ESPNFC's Taylor Twellman.
Kreis, who managed Real Salt Lake to the 2009 MLS Cup, was fired after his first and only season with New York City FC. The MLS side replaced him with former France and Arsenal great Patrick Vieira. Kreis, who appeared 14 times for the U.S. as a player, is currently without a job but will be part of Klinsmann's staff for the camp, which runs through the first week of February. Two of his former players are on the USA's roster: Midfielder Mix Diskerud and forward Khiry Shelton.
The U.S. men will conclude their camp by playing against Iceland and Canada in a pair of friendlies at StubHub Center in Carson, California. Klinsmann had to alter his initial roster due to injuries to San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Marc Pelosi and Fatai Alashe, calling on San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham, Stanford fullback Brandon Vincent, D.C. United defender Steve Birnbaum and midfielder Perry Kitchen.
