Buffon broke the 22-year-old Serie A record in the fourth minute of the Derby della Mole against Torino on Sunday.

The clean sheet record was held by Sebastiano Rossi, who kept a clean sheet for 929 consecutive minutes for AC Milan from Dec. 12, 1993, to Feb. 27, 1994, beating the previous mark set by former Juventus goalkeeper Dino Zoff in 1972-73 by 26 minutes.

Forty minutes after setting the new record, Buffon finally conceded a goal — a 48th minute penalty for Andrea Belotti. Juventus won the match 4-1 with goals from Paul Pogba, Sami Khedira and a brace from Alvaro Morata.

The 38-year-old Buffon had conceded just one league goal in 2016, Antonio Cassano's strike for Sampdoria.

Buffon, who was a crucial part of Italy's World Cup winning side in 2006, has been at Juventus since 2001.
