LIVE: Germany vs. Italy, Euro 2016 quarterfinals
Germany has never beaten Italy in the knockout stage of a major competition, but it'll have to if it is to complete its World Cup-European Championship double.
The two in-form European powers meet in Bordeaux, where only one will advance to the Euro 2016 semifinals. Germany is coming off a dominant showing against Slovakia, winning 3-0 in the round of 16, while Italy was dominant in its own right, defeating Spain 2-0 to oust the two-time reigning Euro kings. Both teams will have to be careful because of card accumulation, as Italy has 11 players one booking away from missing the semifinal, while Germany has five core players–Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Joshua Kimmich–a yellow away from suffering the same fate.

The winner will play either France or Iceland in the semifinals on Thursday.
