The worst part of Minnesota United’s match against Bournemouth on Wednesday night was not the club’s 4–0 loss. Instead, the low-point of the game came when goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock embarrassingly managed to score on his own goal.
Minnesota United was already down 1–0 when Ndjock attempted to throw the ball toward the center of the field, but somehow threw the ball behind him, right into the goal.
He tried to save the ball from going in, but the damage was already done.

Bournemouth was pretty excited about the mishap.

Here’s hoping Ndjock recovers from that “awkward moment” soon.
Minnesota United is set to take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Saturday.
