6 of the Craziest WAGs in Football
It may not seem like a tough gig, but it takes a certain something to be a football WAG. The invasion into ones private life and constant attention by the media can push even the most level-headed person to the edge.
Here's 6 of the craziest WAGs in football.
Wanda Nara
Ah, Wanda Nara. The two-time football WAG who once claimed she was being 'neglected' by her husband Maxi Lopez after a couple of months without sex... at about the same time as she up and left him for one of his good friends, Mauro Icardi.
Awkward.
Nara has been fined more than once for breaking various terms of her divorce - most recently by talking about it on Twitter and stirring up latent drama between her current and former partners, who have now fallen out in a big way. No on-field handshakes, the whole nine yards.
She's not the only member of her family involved in the football dating sphere either. Her sister Zaira, once named in FHM's 50 sexiest women in the world, was engaged to Diego Forlan. That one didn't last, either.
Melissa Satta
Melissa Satta is one of a few WAGs to have linked up with more than one footballer - but it was her comments about her partner Kevin-Prince Boateng's frequent injuries which really put her in the spotlight.
The television presenter and model said: "The reason why he is always injured is because we have sex seven to 10 times a week. I'm afraid that's the reason for the strain."
She didn't stop there though, continuing: "I hate foreplay, I want to get straight to the point. My favourite position is on top so I can take control."
Not a lady who's easily embarrassed, then!
Anara Atanes
Not much of a hint in the name, but Victoria's Secret model Anara Atanes spend two pretty fiery years with Samir Nasri, really coming to the attention of the football world thanks to her sometimes overzealous opinion-sharing on social media.
Not that long after the pair started seeing each other, Nasri was left out of France's World Cup squad - leading her to rant on Twitter "F**k France and f**k Deschamps! What a s**t manager!"
The pair's breakup showed perhaps better than anything just how well the pair were actually suited - Nasri himself 'confirming' the split with a Twitter and Instagram post reading "Loneliness is way better then fake company #fact".
Vanessa Perroncel
The name Vanessa Perroncel might not bring too much to mind immediately - so let's throw a couple more names into the mix. John Terry. Wayne Bridge. Starting to ring some bells now?
Yes, Perroncel was the stunning lingerie model who had a four-month relationship with John Terry, the teammate and good friend of the father of her child Wayne Bridge. Oh, and Terry was married at the time.
What kind of mindset must a person have to throw themselves into that hornets' nest?
Rebekah Vardy
Maybe it's something about the Vardy name, but Jamie Vardy's wife has struggled to keep a low profile since her husband rocketed into the limelight in Leicester City's incredible title-winning season.
She's claimed in the past that she doesn't particularly like the 'WAG' tag, believing that she and other footballers' wives deserve more than just being reduced to their marital status, and she's proved more than once on social media that she very much has a voice of her own. Maybe, er, a little too much so at times.
Whether she's arguing with various fans on Twitter or branding infamous 'Vardy lookalike' Lee Chapman a 'stalker' online, she's shown more than once that she's every bit as fiery as her other half.

She of many surnames - the stunning pop star came into her relationship with then-Arsenal star Ashley Cole under something of a cloud, having been convicted of assault against a nightclub toilet attendant on a drunken night out.
The pair were one of football's biggest superstar couple for years, selling the rights to their wedding pictures to OK! for a reported £1m, before her husband's repeated infidelities saw their marriage end in divorce. .
She popped back up in the gossip columns a few years later when she married Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, despite the pair dating for just three months and speaking little of the same languages. It didn't last.
