PL Legend Thierry Henry Believes Barca Superstar Lionel Messi Can Become Yet Even Better
Lionel Messi is undoubtedly one of the world's best players, however one of his former team-mates believes the Argentine can improve even further.
Thierry Henry was speaking to FCBarcelona.com when he explained that Messi could still develop further:
“[Messi has a] desire to play every game, to train every day and work hard,” claimed Henry.
“Now he creates a lot of goals and I think that people do not talk enough about what he does for the team…Messi's development is not yet over, he’s an incredible player.”
Despite Messi now being 30-years-old, Henry clearly believes that the Argentinian star has more space to develop even further.
Surely that's a scary thought for any side up against the Catalan giants and would certainly solidify Messi as one of the world's all time greatest players.
Messi had another fantastic season last campaign scoring an astounding 37 league goals in 34 games, as well as 11 goals in nine Champions League games.
Henry and Messi played together at the Camp Nou for three seasons between 2007 and 2010, where they also played alongside stars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Yaya Toure.
During their three years together the pair were incredibly successful, winning two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, a Supercopa de Espana and a UEFA Champions League.
Henry wanted to point out however that Barcelona's success has been very highly influenced by the quality of the youth system, that helped bring players such as Messi onto the world's biggest stage:
“For me it is more than a club. When you leave you sense this. In my time there were 11 players from the youth system and that's why Barça is more than a club," claimed Henry.
