Three Premier League Sides Chasing Napoli Midfielder Allan
Napoli's Allan is set to be in the middle of a three way Premier League tussle for his signature; with the player valued at £10m. According to reports from The Sun, Newcastle's interest is set to be hijacked by West Brom and Southampton, who are now also keen on the Brazilian.
Following their promotion, the Magpies have been desperate to bolster the squad in order to survive, with the season fast approaching. Allan has proven top flight experience, spending five years in Serie A, with the latter two at Napoli, making 82 appearances.
The 26-year-old is best known for his defensive capabilities and despite playing a crucial role in the Serie A side's team last season, Napoli would be willing to part ways with the defensive midfielder for the right price.
Winning 51 tackles and making 25 interceptions in 29 Serie A appearances last season, the stats support Allan's claim as a quality defensive midfielder.. Despite the amount of appearances, his game time was still limited as he was mainly used as a substitute to see out games, which has raised speculation of a summer move.
With West Brom and Southampton arguably more ambitious Premier League outfits, the prospect of playing for them would be much greater than Newcastle United. However, with their interest seemingly less concrete, an early bid from the Tyneside club could force Napoli to cash out and give Rafa Benitez his sixth signing of the summer.
