Pal Dardai Glad With Result as Hertha Draws Bayern Munich 2-2 at Home
Bayern Munich faced the embarrassment of losing a 0-2 lead on Sunday afternoon to Hertha Berlin as the home side drew the match 2-2 at the Olympiastadion.
Hertha manager Pal Dardai expressed his delight to herthabsc.de as the hosts prevented Bayern from taking three points with an immediate response on the press.
"I am delighted we got it back to 2-2 and responded in the way that we did," the Hungarian said. "We went into the game with a winning attitude.
"Although it was frustrating to concede when we did after starting the game well, we needed to defend better there."
Dardai explained that his half time team talk help changed the players attitude in the second half despite conceding the second goal from Robert Lewandowski.
"We talked about that at the break and turned it around. Then we came straight out and conceded the second.
"That was not ideal but we showed fantastic character to react like we did," both Ondrej Duda and Salomon Kalou scored in a space of three minutes for the Alte Dame to equalise.
"We wanted to be fresh on the wings and that’s why we started with Genki Haraguchi. He has repaid the faith shown in him today."
Dardai's team go into the international break optimistic of the games ahead in the Bundesliga after the fortnight.
"I think the draw is a fair reflection of the game. We’ll go again in two weeks against Schalke."
