Atlético Madrid Have Signed Argentine Youngster Lautaro Martínez According to Player's Agent
According to Rolando Zárate - the agent of Racing Club de Avellaneda forward Lautaro Martínez - the player has already signed a deal with Spanish club Atlético Madrid.
However, according to Atlético, the talks with the Argentine are still ongoing. Both conflicting reports have lead to a major contradiction over the signing of Martínez, though his agent still upholds the status of his client's future.
According to AS, both AC Milan and Torino are interested in signing the Argentine. Though when asked about the the transfer rumours linking 20-year-old to the Serie A agent, Zárate was keen to brush off the rumours.
He told TuttoMercatoWeb (via AS): "It's always nice to see clubs take an interest in him, I've read about these rumours, but Lautaro has decided his future. He signed [a deal] with Atlético two weeks ago and will join [Diego] Simeone's team soon."
Despite Zárate's claim, Atlético have maintained that no deal has been finalised, though advanced discussions with Martínez are still ongoing. Having already had their €12.75m offer rejected from Martinez's club Racing, Atletico are hoping to come to a quick resolution for the player's signature, especially with Serie A clubs sniffing.
Details of the deal dictate that Martínez will remain at his current club Racing until June before moving to La Liga for the 2018/19 season to join Simeone's Atlético team.
