Since arriving in the United States for the next phase of his career, Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has embraced wholesale the idea of America. The Argentinian luminary has shopped at Publix and posed with American superstars, all while commanding the kind of salary received for the best of the best.

Now, he can check a new red, white and blue box off his list: Interfacing with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Friday night, Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo seemed to indicate that his new goal celebration was meant to resemble Thor—a favorite superhero of the couple's three sons.

Messi is already the owner of three goals in just two games with Inter Miami, having netted a brace in a 4–0 Leagues Cup win over Atlanta United Tuesday.

Thor, based on the Norse god of thunder, is an American creation, having been introduced by Jack Kirby, Stan Lee and Larry Lieber in the summer of 1962.

Messi will return in Issue No. 3 of his Inter Miami stint on Wednesday, in a Leagues Cup Round of 32 matchup against an opponent to be determined.
