Megan Rapinoe is set to retire from professional soccer when the NWSL season ends, and now the USWNT has announced the date of the legendary forward’s final international appearance.

Rapinoe will suit up one final time to play for the United States when it faces South Africa at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Sept. 24.

The USWNT noted that the team will honor Rapinoe’s career ahead of the game, along with celebrating her 200th cap, which she earned back on July 9.

The Sept. 24 match won’t be Rapinoe’s final professional soccer appearance, though, as her final NWSL match with the OL Reign is scheduled for Oct. 15. Rapinoe’s final NWSL home match will take place on Oct. 6. The OL Reign have deemed that night “Forever Reign: A Celebration of Megan Rapinoe.”

With the USWNT, Rapinoe helped the team to two World Cup titles and an Olympic gold medal. She was named FIFA’s top women’s player in 2019, and she also captured the women’s Ballon d’Or award that year.
