The season is still young, but Inter Miami is tied with the LA Galaxy and NY Red Bulls for the most points in Major League Soccer. Lionel Messi continues to generate headlines and hasn't been too bad on the pitch either. Messi has five goals and five assists so far, which puts him just one behind the league leaders in both categories. Meanwhile, his eight year old son Mateo also appears to be playing pretty well.

Messi's middle child is on Inter Miami's under-9 squad and while they don't have a team picture on the website that lists the academy teams, you can stream their games in HD.

This five goal performance came against FC Barca on April 11th. There doesn't appear to be a robust schedule for the 7v7 team, but since the MLS club has only been around for five seasons, who knows how fast this will grow.

Certainly people will be interested in more grainy highlights of the little Messi putting the ball in the back of the net until then. And if he continues to score at this pace it will be increasingly important for Inter Miami to keep dad around. After all, Matteo is only a few years away from being old enough to represent the club in the MLS Next Cup.
