'Fascinated' - Michael Beale gives his thoughts on first two Sunderland Til I Die seasons
Michael Beale says he is planning to watch the upcoming third season of Sunderland Til I Die but he’s happy he’s not in it.
The third and final series of the hit Netflix show will be released on February 13, with it set to tell the story of how Sunderland eventually pulled themselves out of League One via the play-offs.
Season one and two documented some incredibly difficult times for Sunderland, arguably the toughest in the club’s entire history, and they were especially difficult for fans to watch.

Beale says he saw them, though, and he was fascinated by them.
“I watched the original two series,” Beale said of Sunderland Til I Die. “It was interesting.
“I think what you saw is what the club means to the local community and the fans. That just jumped out at everybody.
“Then there were some interesting moments at the club at that time, wasn't there, with different bits and bobs.
“I'm fascinated by those sort of documentaries but I'm quite pleased I'm not involved in this new series, and maybe the focus will go on some of the other staff in the building over the coming weeks.
“So I think this series captures a really important time for the club, with promotion as well and some changes. I'm looking forward, like everybody else, to watching it.”
