Jack Diamond 'buzzing' after bagging first career hat-trick
Sunderland winger Jack Diamond said he was ‘buzzing’ after he scored his first career hat-trick in Lincoln’s 6-3 win at Bristol Rovers.
Diamond has made an electric start to his season-long loan with the Imps, immediately establishing himself as a key player and fan’s favourite.
He enjoyed a major career milestone this week as he bagged a treble, and he made sure he hunted down his own personal memento.
“It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but we have come to a difficult place, scored six and taken three points. I know all the lads in the dressing room are buzzing,” Diamond said.
“Of course with it being my first senior hat-trick, that was a nice little bonus too. I made sure I chased down the match ball after the game as well so I’ll make sure all the lads sign it too!”
“The fans were brilliant and I am sure they had a thrilling one watching all of those goals go in!”
The win leaves Lincoln sitting nicely in eighth place in League One, and Diamond believes maintaining their fine form is now essential if they are to build a promotion push.
“You can see the ability we have up front to go away from home and score six goals, so we must try now to continue this momentum.
“The gaffer summed it up perfectly after the game saying it has taken us level on goal difference which is a real positive, so that tops off a brilliant week with back-to-back wins.”
