'Quick, skilful, willing to work hard' - Romaine Mundle excited by Sunderland switch
Romaine Mundle says he ‘can’t wait’ to show Sunderland supporters what he can do after completing a deadline day move from Standard Liege.
The former Spurs man joined for a fee believed to be around £2million, signing a 4-and-a-half-year deal with the Wearside club.
Provided international clearance comes through in time, he will go straight into the squad to face Middlesbrough this weekend, and he says he is excited to get his Sunderland career started.

“I’m a quick winger, skilful, and willing to work hard,” Mundle told safc.com. “In Belgium it was a very good experience, and a tough one as well.
“It came with a lot of ups and downs and it moulded me into the man I am now. The experience was my first season in professional football and it was about how I could cope with that. I learned a lot of lessons there.
“The project, the fanbase, the staff, I couldn’t say no to coming here. For me and my development this is the next step.
“I can’t wait to play in front of the fans. It’s an amazing stadium and I just can’t wait to get going now.”
Kristjaan Speakman had revealed Mundle was a player Sunderland had been tracking for some time, and they were surprised when he became available in a permanent deal.
Mundle also sees Sunderland as a big opportunity for him, and one he fully intends to grasp.
“It feels surreal,” he said. “I can’t wait to get started and play in front of the fans and develop as a player.

“There’s a lot of history at the club and I thought this could be the right move for me to proceed with my career.
“At Tottenham, I was training and learning from the best every day and developing as a person as well, into the young man I am today. The facilities at Tottenham and just being around the people was amazing to be honest.”
