'Sunderland tears of sorrow' - Will Ferrell gets pre-match QPR prediction badly wrong
Sunderland fans received a special message before their match against QPR from Hollywood royalty Will Ferrell, although Black Cats supporters had the last laugh.
Ferrell, who part owns MLS club Los Angeles FC, was at Tuesday's match at Loftus Road, and before the game he sent a message via the official QPR club twitter page.
The tweet said 'A pre-match message from Will Ferrell. What could possibly go wrong?"
The message begins with the actor joking about QPR being a well supported team in Los Angeles.
He then goes on to send well wishes to the home team before addressing the Sunderland contingency.
"Sunderland....oh, the tears of sorrow you're going to experience tonight dripping down your face into your mouth drowning you in sorrow, I can only imagine"
Sunderland, of course, had the last laugh over the Hollywood comic, as goals from Luke O'Nien and a Jack Clarke double, as well as a penalty save from Anthony Patterson helped the away side to a 3-0 win.
