Sunderland's 2023/24 fixture list was released today, with Tony Mowbray's side starting with a home game v Championship newcomers Ipswich Town.

Sunderland's 2023/24 season starts with a tough home fixture v Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys earned automatic promotion from League One last time round, after finishing 2nd in the league.

Many are tipping Ipswich to enjoy a good season in the second tier but many are also backing Sunderland to enjoy another strong showing after their 6th place finish last season.

Sunderland's first away outing is a trip to Preston North End the following weekend, with the Black Cats then hosting Preston on New Year's Day.

The season finishes with a home game v Sheffield Wednesday.
