Who are the early favourites for Sunderland job after Michael Beale debacle?
Sunderland are once again in the market for a new head coach, and considering it's so soon since the last time they were there is a real sense of déjà vu about the betting markets.
The Black Cats made the decision to sack Michael Beale on Monday, bringing an end to a disastrous 64 day, 12 match spell during which everything got worse in one way or another.
Mike Dodds has been appointed as interim head coach for the rest of the season ahead of a summer appointment, but that hasn't stop the sportsbooks from immediately firing up their markets.
As per Instant Casino, Reims coach Will Still is the strong favourite, with former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper also in the running. They will likely be the names the fans would like to see appointed.
Former Sunderland bosses Roy Keane and Sam Allardyce are also on the list, although it's impossible to see either being serious contenders.
WIll Still | 2/1 |
---|---|
Steve Cooper | 3/1 |
Paul Heckingbottom | 7/2 |
Kim Hellberg | 4/1 |
Michael Duff | 7/1 |
Wayne Rooney | 9/1 |
Steven Gerrard | 10/1 |
Sam Allardyce | 10/1 |
Roy Keane | 12/1 |
Frank Lampard | 20/1 |
