On a conference call held on Saturday with leaders from 13 major sports leagues, President Donald Trump said that he wants sports to resume by August or September with fan attendance to follow soon after. State officials like Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and California Gov. Gavin Newsom have expressed that the fall may be too early to bring back sports altogether. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is the latest to address whether or not NFL teams could play in September, having shut down all sports in the state, saying that “with some significant testing, you could put players on the field long before you could put people in the stands.”
