This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who was watching Petra Kvitova over the summer, but the powerful Czech wasn't so powerful today as she went down to Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru, 7-6 (3), 6-3.

The lefty sprayed 52 unforced errors and struggled with her timing throughout the match. This is the first time a reigning Wimbledon champion lost in the first round of the U.S. Open. Not a great reason to be in the record books, Petra.
