'Gangnam Style' takes over tennis

What do you do if you're a teenager stuck behind the Great Firewall of China, with limited internet and nothing but your iPhone and a free trial version of Final Cut? Why, you grab your best friend and make a Gangnam Style tribute video, of course!
Childhood BFFs Laura Robson and Genie Bouchard have never been shy about showing off their dance moves in front of the camera. In fact their penchant for putting on all of their Adidas/Nike gear to do so seems to be a thing (see the 2:45 mark of this video). The two reunited in Beijing and Osaka and put together a solid Gangnam Style video that includes cameos from Maria Sharapova, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Sam Stosur and Fernando Verdasco.

Dancing on the Great Wall, in front of the Water Cube, and running around Osaka dressed like Harajuku girls? Check. Check. And check. Admit it, you're pretty shocked they got Sharapova too.
In fact, this past weekend saw Gangnam Style get all up in the tennis business. The catchy-is-an-understatement K-Pop song has been dominating the internet for months now (see the amazing and ridiculous original video here -- yes, that view count is accurate) and it was only a matter of time before it took over the tennis world.
While Robson and Bouchard were editing their video, Novak Djokovic was celebrating his Beijing trophy by dancing with the China Open ballkids. That guy never ceases to amaze me in his ability to keep up with current internet memes. (Also worth noting: This isn't the first time Djokovic has Gangnam'd on court. Here he is with Nicolas Almagro at an exhibition in Taiwan.)

As for the first Gangnam sighting in tennis? That would go to young Filip Peliwo of Canada, who was forced to do the dance on court after their recent Davis Cup win over South Africa. Kids are just alright, folks.
