The rain finally came on Day 3 of the French Open, disrupting play twice and forcing the cancellation of the last match on every court. When the clouds parted, it was Marion Bartoli and Olga Govortsova playing the match of the day on Court Philippe Chatrier; Novak Djokovic holding off an inspired David Goffin; and 20-year-old Jack Sock continuing the American surge in Paris.

Novak Djokovic: Despite being the second match on the schedule, he didn't get on court until 6:30 p.m. He took care of a strong Goffin, dispatching the Belgian 7-6 (5), 6-4, 7-5.

David Goffin:  Some say they think the slightly built Goffin put on some muscle. I think they're confusing "muscle" with "facial hair."

Marion Bartoli: Everything you need to know about Bartoli in a single picture. It defies explanation and you're tempted to ask questions, but at the end of the day it's best just to sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Her 7-6 (8), 4-6, 7-5 win over Govortsova, in which she came back from a break down in the third set and saved two match points, is the stuff of legend. Her legend. That she's writing for herself.

Jack Sock: No wild card needed this time. Sock qualified for the French Open the hard way and then knocked off Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 6-2, 6-2, 7-5, for his first main-draw win at Roland Garros.

Jelena Jankovic: The Smiling Serb came back from a 0-5 deficit in the second set to win 6-4, 7-6 (7) against Daniela Hantuchova. So, yeah, she can eat whatever she wants.

Alize Cornet: The overly dramatic Frenchwoman (and that's saying something) had a fairly routine win over Maria Joao Koehler of Portugal, 7-5, 6-2.

Lauren Davis: No amount of voodoo magic could help the 19-year-old American, who lost 6-0, 7-5 to Kristina Mladenovic. It was the second bagel set dealt to an American on the day after Coco Vandeweghe lost to Yaroslava Shvedova6-0, 3-6, 6-2.

Kimiko Date-Krumm: If Kimiko says the ball is out, the ball is out. These are (or should be) the rules of tennis.

Judy Murray: While her son is back home tweeting up a storm, Great Britain's Fed Cup captain has watched her British women go 0-2 with Heather Watson still to play.

Marion Bartoli: Drama. Always drama.

Novak Djokovic: He spoke some French during his post-match interview, earning a solid thumbs up from the French fans. They're so easy to please.
