Roger Federer gifted a cow (yes, a cow) from Swiss Open organizers

The Swiss Open thanked Roger Federer for his late entry into the tournament by presenting him with a cow named Desiree during the opening ceremony on Tuesday.

This isn't the first cow the tournament has gifted the Swiss great, who is playing the event for the first time since 2004. Upon returning to the tournament in 2003 after winning his first Wimbledon title, a shocked Federer was given a prize cow that he named Juliette.

"Now I need to find a garage for a cow, although I have no idea what a cow garage looks like," Federer joked at the time.

That cow ended up staying in Gstaad, and was cared for by a dairy farmer. That cow even had a baby, which Federer named "Edelweiss," and the mother and baby roamed the green pastures of Gstaad for years while Federer began his assault on the record books.

Asked for an update on his bovine family earlier this year, Federer confirmed he was now cow-less.

"She's not around anymore," Federer said at the Australian Open. "You're living in the past. She's long gone. I think her daughter's gone, too. So way behind."

The cow jokes flowed on Twitter after Tuesday's presentation of a new cow.
