Melanie Oudin says she 'probably' needs second heart procedure
WTA tennis pro Melanie Oudin says her heart issues have returned, which will force her to push back the start of her season.
Oudin posted a picture on Twitter showing her with a monitor on her chest, saying she “will probably have to undergo another procedure.”
Oudin, who has not played since September, had a procedure to correct a form of arrhythmia and also had surgery to correct a “a growth” in her eye in November. She said she had been having occasional "episodes" of an accelerated heartbeat for over a year.
"So I have some bad news to share with you guys," Oudin wrote on Twitter. "My heart episodes have come back and that will delay my start even more to the year. I will probably have to undergo another procedure, but for the time being I have to wear a heart monitor to keep track of things."
