After Wimbledon and ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics, Vandeweghe joins the podcast before practice for the summer hardcourt swing. Wertheim and Vandeweghe discuss her family's athletic history, including her mother's experiences at the Olympics in two sports, her grandfather Ernie and her uncle Kiki. Vandeweghe discusses what this upbringing taught her about sports and the Olympics and how it affects her tennis career today. The 24-year-old American also talks about life on the WTA Tour, including the pros and cons of traveling, if she is able to do sightseeing and more. Vandeweghe also talks about her experience at Wimbledon this year, if she compares herself to other pro players, the difficulties of making a living on the WTA Tour, her goals for the rest of the season and more.
