"I feel like it was really good for me to win on probably not my best day, which is always good, because sometimes you rely on one shot and if it goes off, and then, like, what happens now?...I have absolutely nothing to lose in this tournament. Everything here is a bonus for me. Obviously I'm here to win. Hopefully I can play better, I can only go better."

I think more than anything it's more trying to disassociate myself from the importance of the moment. I think it's more keeping things in perspective and not panicking if I were to lose that service game or that point....just having trust in myself that however the match will swing, I will always be there to give my best and to always try to leave it all out on court and fight till the very end."

"I'm clicked in, for sure. I'm calm and focused now. Again, it was a really fun moment on the court. I celebrate those. Then I'm okay after. But, yeah, super fun."

"I was playing great this time last year, but I didn't know where I was coming from from the year before, ending 2015 with injury. Coming together now, putting in a great finish to this season last year, playing what I feel is some of my best tennis right now, it's just a different circumstance, but both pretty special."

"I've learned a lot of new things about myself, I think, starting to work with Dani, with my coach. It was just nice that he came at a good time, the end of last year. As soon as the off-season was on, it was just very simple. Had quite a few big talks. We discussed what we can do better, what we need to work on, what we need to improve, and how we want to be in 2017. I mean, simple as that....Then, for sure, the belief after. I started believing a little bit more in myself."

"I think definitely the result what I had in U.S. Open was the breakthrough, especially on a Grand Slam. I think this little bit counts as well. Also with my form coming this year, with winning the Brisbane, I was really playing well there. I felt really good there. So here one match little bit struggling. Was also important just to get through this one so everything is just somehow going little bit my way. I'm feeling well actually, even not the best, but well."

"For me means a lot because for me I really start the season playing quarterfinals in a Grand Slam again, especially on hard court after a couple of years without being in this round is a great news. Yeah, very happy with an important victory against a very good opponent."
